Heraldic Christmas Card

This illustration was commissioned by Stephen Hartland and features his Arms, Crest and motto along with an Anglo-Saxon message that translates to “Happy Yuletide to All”. The style of the illustration is based on the heraldic artist Otto Hupp, a Wappen illustrator whose work spans the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

I illustrated the Christmas card using a tablet and touch sensitive pen to create the hand drawn effect – the end result is all vector graphics still.

In the background are towers from Edgbaston, the home town of my client and the inspiration for ‘The Two Towers’ by J. R. R. Tolkien.
