University of Oxford Etching Restoration

A recently completed restoration project of an etching for the Chancellor’s Court of Benefactors at the University of Oxford. The artwork that I created was a lot more that just a copy of the original, the crosshatching and line had been reduced by earlier attempts to digitise the artwork – my digital techniques have hopefully future proofed this amazing etching for years to come.

The two screen shots below show a close up on my artwork, which was created on the iPad with a touch sensitive pencil, compared to the original.

The original etched artwork consists of the Arms of the University of Oxford upon the Bedel’s Staves.
